Digital Health Advisor (Location: Blantyre, Malawi.) effective 1st October 2023.

Position: Digital Solutions Advisor, Full-Time Position (FTE)

General roles and responsibilities

The Digital Health Advisor is responsible for the successful implementation of projects at Compelling
Works.
Working with the team in place, the Digital Health Advisor will be responsible for:

1. Commissioning projects

Commission new projects ready for implementation. This involves executing all project on-boarding
tasks outlined in the SOP for setting up projects at Compelling Works.

2. Implementing projects

Ensure successful implementation of projects. Implementation tasks involve training, capacity
building, solutions design, and implementation, attending to support and feature requests, and
stakeholder management.

3. Reporting on projects

Write and submit timely reports on project activities. Reports shall be written after each field activity
and in compliance with contractual reporting requirements.

4. Managing project milestones

We are a results-based organization. The Digital Health Advisor will be expected to deliver project
results in a timely manner, as per stipulated milestones.

5. Executing other duties

The Digital Solutions Advisor may be called upon by Management to perform other duties including
but not limited to business development and contribution to project-related articles to be published.
Supporting proposal writing/project development and the development of in-house products.

Qualification, skills, and requirements:

Academic qualification

A minimum qualification of a bachelor’s degree in computer science, health informatics, business
computing, or related field.
Training in project management and interest in digital solutions, especially digital health, is an added
advantage

Experience

● At least three years of work experience in a related position.

● Project management, and supervision of teams.
● Training and capacity building especially of the health workforce or related domains.
● Data analysis, interpretation, and use.
● Software development/programming.
● Reporting.

Soft Skills

● You are proactive and work with minimum supervision.

Position: MERL Officer, Full-Time Position (FTE)

General roles and responsibilities

The MERL Officer will contribute to the successful implementation of research projects implemented
by Compelling Works. We are particularly looking for skills in quantitative analytics (statistics). The
MERL Officer will also support monitoring and evaluation activities in the organization, including
contractual obligations stipulated in client projects as outcomes, outputs, or deliverables.

More specifically, the MERL Officer will be responsible for:

1. Statistical analysis

Working with the research team in place, design quantitative research components of projects, and
address quantitative data analysis needs of research projects in implementation. This includes
collecting and analyzing data using statistical modeling and documenting findings in research reports
and manuscripts among others.

2. Monitoring and evaluation

The MERL Officer will be responsible for monitoring and evaluating all projects implemented by
Compelling Works, including the moderation of scrum of scrum meetings. This will involve tracking
all contractual obligations, including milestones, outcomes, outputs, and other key deliverables; and
working with the teams implementing projects to ensure the timely delivery of expected project
results.

3. Client satisfaction assessment

The MERL Officer will be responsible for executing satisfaction rating assessments in the
organization. Compelling Works habitually requests clients, vendors, and staff to carry out
satisfaction ratings as part of our commitment to offering quality services subject to continuous
improvement. The MERL Officer will analyze, interpret, and disseminate satisfaction rating results;
and follow up to issues arising to ensure successful resolution and feedback upon resolution.

4. Reporting on projects

Write and submit timely reports on project activities. Reports shall be written after each field activity
and in compliance with contractual reporting requirements.

5. Executing other duties

The MERL Officer may be called upon by Management to perform other duties including but not
limited to business development, especially the M&E components thereof, and contribution to
project-related articles to be published.

Qualification, skills, and requirements:

Academic qualification

  • A Bachelor ́s Degree in Statistics.
  • Training in project management and monitoring and evaluation is critical.

Experience

● At least three years of work experience in a related position.
● Statistical analysis skills.
● Practical skills in the use of key statistical packages like SPSS, STATA, Dedoose.
● Research, monitoring, and evaluation skills.
● Data analysis, interpretation, and use.
● Project management, and supervision of teams.
● Training and capacity building in the context of research.
● Reporting.
