Harold holds a Bachelor’s in Computer Science, a master’s in business administration (Accounts and Finance) and is currently pursuing the Certified Professional for Health Information and Management System (CPHIMS), with certification due in March 2021. Harold is a professional senior software engineer, co-founder and CEO of Compelling Works Ltd, with over 10 years of experience in architecting, designing, developing and successfully deploying digital solutions that are being used to help improve health outcomes and also improve monitoring and evaluation of projects. He is the Lead Application Developer of the AlSuite platform.

Harold developed a passion for monitoring and evaluation of projects, having been introduced to the field in his time with MIFUMI, a non-governmental organization in Uganda. It is at this time that he began to build an electronic monitoring and evaluation system, which over the years has grown to become a fully-fledged project management cloud solution, currently being used in over 5 countries by Forum for Women in Democracy (FOWODE) in Uganda, HISP West Africa in Togo, The Justice and Accountability Project (Chilungamo) in Malawi, MIFUMI in Uganda, Management4Health in Germany, to name but a few. Working as a consultant, he has also trained organizations in setting up functional monitoring and evaluation systems, helping them to fully embrace M&E as part of their everyday project execution.

In his earlier career years, Harold greatly contributed to the conceptualization, design, and deployment of the electronic Health Management Information System (eHMIS) an Electronic Health Records System that he together with Simon Ndira deployed in Tororo District Hospital in Uganda, an initiative that exposed lots of organizational and cultural challenges, beyond the technical, that are associated with deploying such complex systems.
