Michael Ochieng holds a bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Finance from the University of Kyambogo in Uganda and now registered with ACCA a global Certifying Organization for Accountants. Michael is a passionate and dedicated Accountant and Human Resources Manager, currently managing financial and human resource related tasks of the nine staff and consultants of Compelling Works staff, implementing a $1.9m (BMGF, Cooper/Smith) project in Malawi with other projects in the pipeline. In executing his tasks, Michael receives a lot of backing, guidance, and support from the pool of Cooper/Smith professionals involved in finance, human resource, audits, and compliance, drawing from the many years of experience.
Before joining Compelling works Ltd, he worked with several private Limited companies like Dembe Trading Ltd Company in Uganda as an Administrator managing the Sales Department. Dembe Trading company is a redistribution company dealing with major production companies like Philip, distributing electronics globally. As an Accountant and Administrator over three years, he was responsible for handling sales and the sales team and performing sales of ca. $10,000 per week.
His duties at Compelling Works involve posting books of account, reconciling books month end, preparing and disbursing payroll and consultancy earnings, preparing quarterly financial reports in line with donor expectations and reporting standards and maintaining the AlSuite platform for integrated project management.
Michael has experience with several accounting solutions including Tally Masters, Quickbooks and now the AlSuite platform, an in-house tool developed by Compelling Works that creatively integrates project management linking Accounts, M&E, Operations and Reporting.
