Simon Ndira

Founder & CEO

Simon is the Founder and CEO of Compelling Works Limited and Country Representative of Cooper/Smith Malawi, currently overseeing the implementation of 5 projects in Malawi in volumes of ca. $7.5m, providing strategic oversight to a team of over 35 staff in Malawi.
For his doctoral program, Simon developed an electronic Health Management Information System for District Hospital in Uganda 2004-2007. He conceptualized the Afghanistan National Blood Safety and Transfusion database (2011-12); was the Lead Expert who oversaw the design and implementation of a National Health Information Systems Infrastructure for Ministry of Health Algeria, a 7.8m EURO EU-funded project (2012-2014) and has supported Ministry of Health Malawi as Health Information Systems Advisor since 2015 to date.
Simon Ndira holds a degree in Organization and Information Management from Ludwigshafen Fachhochschule in Germany, a Master of Science degree in Public Health from LSHTM, UK, and a PhD in Medical Informatics from Heidelberg University in Germany. Simon began his career in 2001, working in the subject area of information risk management, information systems security, and enterprise risk services, first with KPMG Mannheim Germany, then with Deloitte and Touché in Frankfurt Germany as an Enterprise Risk Services Advisor and with Merck KGaA in Darmstadt, Germany as an Internal Auditor, focusing on information systems security and business process audits. In carrying out his duties as an Information Systems Security Professional he has worked in several countries across Europe, the US, and Asia. He served as Deputy Director of MIFUMI, a human rights INGO based in Uganda from 2005 to 2011, during which time he managed a workforce of over 100 staff and volunteers.
