UCSF-Healthqual was contracted in 2020 to support Blantyre Prevention Strategy with Quality Improvement Support. In January 2024, UCSF-Healthqual sub-contracted Compelling Works as a local Malawian organization to continue the QI support on BPS and PathToScale Projects. The work involves management of QI collaborative in Blantyre and Lilongwe districts aiming at building capacity for MoH health workers in Quality Improvement for HIV prevention services using HIV Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP). The QI component also aims to support improvement of health services for injectable PrEP under the PathToScale study in 36 facilities in Blantyre and Lilongwe


Objectives

Support the District and City to be able to:

  • Develop data-driven, community-informed, responsive, and adaptive prevention programs that are attractive to at-risk populations

  • Deliver quality HIV prevention services through coordinated public and private delivery channels at the community and facility level to populations most at risk of HIV acquisition

  • Measure program performance, quality, and effectiveness of prevention programs in reducing incidence to adapt and expand user-provider interfaces as needed.
